Nothing Like Falling In Love

In May of 2022 I put on a pair of shows with Bo Bice in Seattle and Portland. His tour manager for those shows had his own musical project and really turned some heads when he got on a piano and started playing and singing at the Old Church in Portland after the show. His record label reached out to me following that and asked if I would help book shows for JJ Braves. I wasn’t totally sure I would have enough time but I ended up booking a couple shows late in 2023 and eventually included him in the Purusa summer tours of 2024 and 2025. During that time his song “The High Dive” became a serious ear worm for me.

When I began working on this compilation we mutually considered “The High Dive” but I was thinking a song that had not been released yet might be better. I knew he had recorded two songs late in 2024 and only one of them had been released since. So, I thought this might be the perfect opportunity to bring the other one, “Nothing Like Falling In Love”, into the world, while he completes work on a new record. Fortunately, he agreed. The song has a real 80’s rock vibe with some big synth hooks, soaring vocals and optimistic lyrics.
